LogSnitch, a free Wipefest alternative

LogSnitch is a free alternative to Wipefest for reading raid mechanics from a Warcraft Logs report. Both show who failed which mechanic. LogSnitch lays every mechanic out player by player across your pulls, says how each is counted, matches Warcraft Logs' own numbers, and checks an NSRT or MRT note.

What is Wipefest?

A raid analysis site built on Warcraft Logs, and part of it: Warcraft Logs bought it in 2020 (Wowhead). For each pull it shows insights on the boss's mechanics, a timeline and Mythic Trap's clips, and it rates each pull's mechanics against other raids' recent kills.

Is Wipefest free?

Partly. On its homepage, analysing a single pull or report is free; analysing several reports at once and overviews of a whole raid night are for subscribers. LogSnitch is free, with no account.

Do their numbers differ?

Sometimes, on purpose, and LogSnitch says where. A single pulse at the edge of someone else's Plague Froth circle is walking through it, not a mistake, so only stays of two pulses or more count. On Cremation, the players soaking Hungering Pyre take it by design and are not counted, so LogSnitch found 5 mistakes on one Heroic pull where counting every hit gives 14.

Two counts still differ for reasons not yet pinned down: Plague Wave and Stygian Burst, on the report LogSnitch's rules were checked against.

When should I use which?

  • Wipefest to compare your pulls with other raids' kills, or to review several reports at once with a subscription.
  • LogSnitch to see who failed what across your own pulls, check a count against Warcraft Logs by hand, or check your raid note, for free.
  • Both read the same public report link, so nothing stops you using both.
