How to check an NSRT note against Warcraft Logs

Warcraft Logs shows what was cast, not what was planned: checking a note by hand means finding each assigned cast and comparing its time. LogSnitch does it for you: paste the NSRT or MRT note, and each assignment is marked on time, early, late or missed, pull by pull.

How do I check a note by hand?

Check it on Warcraft Logs

  1. Open the report on warcraftlogs.com and pick the pull.
  2. Open Casts, filter to the assigned player and spell.
  3. Compare the cast's time with the note's line; repeat for every line, then every pull.

A healing plan of forty lines over ten pulls is four hundred comparisons.

What does LogSnitch check in a note?

  • Each line becomes an assignment: who, which spell, and when (a time, or a time in a phase).
  • Names are matched to the report's characters, with a "did you mean" for nicknames that do not match.
  • Each assignment is matched to that player's cast on every pull and marked on time, early, late, missed, someone else, or not applicable, with the time difference and how sure the match is.
  • The tolerance for early and late can be changed.
  • Lines it cannot read are listed, not dropped, and the note itself is never changed.

What about Personals, healthstones and potions?

A line of Personals holds each player to their own defensive, whatever their class. A consumable named by its spell id (spellid:6262 for Healthstone, or a health potion) holds everyone to it (potions).

Can the plan even be followed?

LogSnitch warns when a note gives one player the same spell twice closer together than it can be cast: the fastest recast seen in real logs, which is not always the tooltip's (Divine Hymn comes back in 120 seconds, not three minutes). A player seen casting it faster on your pulls is not warned about.

Can I see the plan against the pull?

Yes: the timeline draws each assignment on one pull's clock, from the planned time to the actual press, with the rest of the plan dimmed.

Can I try it without a note?

Try an example writes a sample note from what your raid actually cast, so you can see how a plan is checked before pasting your own.
