How to check potion use in Warcraft Logs
In Warcraft Logs, a potion shows as a cast and as a buff on the player: filter the Casts or Buffs view to the potion to see who used one and when. A pre-pot was drunk before the pull, so it shows as a buff already running. LogSnitch checks every player on every pull at once.
How do I see who used a potion?
Check it on Warcraft Logs
- Open the report on warcraftlogs.com and pick the pull.
- Open Casts and filter to the potion: each use, by whom and when.
- Open Buffs and select the potion's buff to see who had it up during the pull.
- Repeat for every pull you want to compare.
How do I spot a pre-pot?
A potion drunk before the pull has no cast inside it: only its buff, already running when the pull starts. LogSnitch counts a pre-pot from that buff ending after the pull began, so a player who drank early is not marked as missing their potion.
What about healthstones and health potions?
They are checked on their own, per player per pull, apart from the combat potion. In a raid note, naming one by its spell id (spellid:6262 for Healthstone) holds everyone to it (checking a note).
Can I check flask, food and rune too?
Yes. As each pull starts, the log records every player's gear and active auras; LogSnitch reads flask, food and augment rune from that record, pull by pull.
Can I check that potions went in at a set time?
With a watcher of your own: an expected cast rule for the potion, with a time window and a role. For example, every DPS between 1:30 and 2:30 of the pull: each player gets a tick or a cross per pull.
How does LogSnitch show potion use?
- A consumables section on every boss: combat potion, health potions and healthstones, player by player and pull by pull.
- Preparation: flask, food and rune per pull.
- Counting stops when the wipe began, so a potion not drunk while the raid was dying is not charged (death cutoff).
