Who failed Shifting Protovenom?
Shifting Protovenom is failed by a carrier who walks it into a player who does not have it: Protovenom Eruption goes off on both, and the carrier is charged. Players only caught in the blast are not. LogSnitch reads who touched whom from where everyone stood.
What is Shifting Protovenom?
A Mythic-only pairing mechanic on Entombed Sentinels: players carrying Shifting Protovenom must find another carrier, and the two lose it in the same instant.
If a carrier touches someone who has none, Protovenom Eruption erupts on the two of them together, and the blast reaches anyone within about 10 yards.

What counts as failing Shifting Protovenom?
- Each eruption started by a carrier touching a player without the debuff: every carrier in that burst is charged.
What is not counted?
- Players hit only because they stood near: LogSnitch takes the carrier nearest a player without the debuff, and anyone within 2 yards of that one, from the positions in the log; the rest were caught in the blast.
- Anything after the wipe was called.
What does it look like on real pulls?
Over six Mythic pulls LogSnitch found 11 contacts, and every eruption had a carrier in it.
Which log events show it?
| Data | Events | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Debuffs | removedebuff, applydebuffstack | A pair clears it in the same instant; a wrong merge gains a stack together. |
| DamageTaken | damage | The punishment, within 2 s of the carry ending; positions say who touched whom. |
| Deaths | death | A killing blow by the mechanic, up to 7 s after. |
