Who failed Venomous Surge?
Venomous Surge is failed by a carrier who drops their Viscous Cyst away from every soak spot. LogSnitch reads where each carrier stood as the mark ended, and judges the drop against the room's 8 spots, one per wind tunnel.
What is Venomous Surge?
On Sszorak, the mark leaves a Viscous Cyst at its carrier's feet as it ends; the cysts matter again when the intermission's winds come, so where they lie matters.
The room decides where they go: across the pulls of 22 raids, from Normal to Mythic, the drops lie along 8 directions 45° apart from the room's centre, one per wind tunnel. 216 of 223 full-length drops sit within 9° of one of them.

What counts as failing Venomous Surge?
- A drop more than 11° off every spot's direction, or nearer than 26 yards to the centre.
What is not counted?
- A mark that came off early, under 90% of its usual time: its carrier died or cheated death and did not choose the spot.
- A drop after the wipe was called.
- A drop with no position in the log: a fully absorbed hit carries none.
- Which tunnel a cast was meant for: it is not in the log, so any spot counts.
What does it look like on real pulls?
On one Heroic report's nine pulls: 75 drops, 71 with a position, 65 on a spot. Of the 6 off, 5 came off early and 1 was charged.
Which log events show it?
| Data | Events | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Debuffs | removedebuff | The mark's end is the drop. |
| DamageTaken | damage | The carrier's own hit nearest the drop (within 0.25 s) gives their position. |

How does LogSnitch show it?
- A map of the room with its entrance, the 8 spots drawn as wedges, the raid's world markers read from the log, and every drop, charged or not.
