The Twin Fangs: who failed which mechanic

On The Twin Fangs, LogSnitch checks 16 mechanics on Mythic (13 on Normal): 11 can charge a player with a mistake, 2 judge the tanks, 2 are credit and 1 is shown as a fact, since the log cannot say who failed it. Each is read pull by pull.

Which The Twin Fangs mechanics count as mistakes?

Each of these charges the player who made the mistake, pull by pull. Counts follow Warcraft Logs': direct hits, not ticks (hits vs ticks).

What are the tanks judged on?

A tank buster is judged on whether a defensive or an external was up on each hit, counting only defensives that tank is seen pressing in the report. Stacks are judged only where the guide states a limit; otherwise how long each tank held them is shown.

Which mechanics are credit?

Here taking it, killing it or kicking it is the job, so each is credit to the player who did it, never a mark against anyone.

What does the log leave unjudged?

The log records the damage of these, not who was at fault: a raid-wide job, a placement or a puzzle it cannot see, or a guide that never says what failing looks like. They are shown as facts and nobody is charged.

What changes on Heroic and Mythic?

  • Blood Torrent is checked on Mythic only: on an easier pull it never happens, so it is never judged there.
  • Rouse the Brood is checked on Mythic only: on an easier pull it never happens, so it is never judged there.
  • Tainted Blood is checked on Mythic only: on an easier pull it never happens, so it is never judged there.

How does LogSnitch read The Twin Fangs?

  • Coiling Ichor is a spread: being marked is fine, and only players hit without a mark of their own are charged.
  • Venomous Emergence reaches everyone. What players must dodge are the Corrosive Spit lines the adds fire, and a spit is only charged to a player who was not its target.
  • Stir the Depths is two spells with one name: the pulse the whole raid takes is left alone; only the travelling waves are mistakes.
  • Caustic Deluge: picking up the Caustic Globules is the job, so each one taken is credit; standing where the deluge lands is avoidable damage.
  • Congealed Gore puddles and falling into the Deadly Venom are watched as avoidable damage though the guide does not list them.

Which mechanics are left out?

  • Toxic Fumes: Unavoidable damage — there is nothing the player could have done.
  • Uncoiled Wrath: A fight-wide timer, not something one player can act on.

How do I check a pull of The Twin Fangs myself?

Check it on Warcraft Logs

  1. Open the report on warcraftlogs.com and pick the pull.
  2. For a mechanic to avoid, open Damage Taken, select the ability and read each player's hits (the ticks are the cost).
  3. For a debuff to carry, pair or dispel, open Debuffs and the ability; for kicks, Interrupts; for who died to what, Deaths.
  4. Compare with LogSnitch's card for the mechanic: the same pull, the same players, the same counts, and a note wherever it deliberately differs.
