Who failed Caustic Waves?

Caustic Waves is failed by being caught by a wave: each direct hit is one mistake. The damage-over-time a wave leaves is logged as ticks and shown as what it cost, not as more mistakes. On one Ula'tek pull that was 3 hits and 30 ticks.

What is Caustic Waves?

Waves cross the room on Ula'tek; one that catches a player leaves damage over time on them.

The ticks land only on players the waves hit, so LogSnitch does not mistake them for a puddle, where the ticks themselves are the mistake (hits vs ticks).

What counts as failing Caustic Waves?

  • Each direct hit, per player per pull.

What is not counted?

  • The ticks of the damage over time: the cost of the hit.
  • Hits nobody could avoid, when a wave reached nearly the whole raid: the low quartile of the raid's hits comes off everyone's count.

What does it look like on real pulls?

One pull: 3 hits and 30 ticks. Counting every damage event would report 33.
